Les Démons Contemporains is a series of paintings that explores the duality within various behemoths—from political and religious movements to the unstoppable momentum of technology. These forces, though often born from ideals of liberation, can just as easily become the architects of repression.
The "demons" in these works are not mythical creatures, but rather manifestations of the desire, fear, and hope inherent to the human condition. Through the integration of everyday objects, classical notions of the demon are transformed into symbols of modern struggles: promises laced with deception, ambition tempered by compassion, and freedom tarnished by conformity.
The pieces invite everyone to confront the complexity of their own inner life and to recognize that morality, identity, and emotion are not one and the same. Against a backdrop of rapid computerization and cultural polarization, Les Démons Contemporains uses the visual language of duality to spark reflection on authenticity, self-delusion, and the masks we wear.
